I was already in George at that moment, so I raced back to the studio in Wilderness, packaged the artwork, jumped back in my car and hightailed it back to George making it to The Courier Guy depot in the nick of time - cut off time is 4pm.
Brenda and Abri were waiting to help me get the paperwork sorted out which was a little tricky as our client did not have an SA contact number or a delivery address as he was going to collect it from the kiosk close to the airport.
I told Brenda she would have to make sure it gets to Cape Town in time because I didn't fancy swimming all the way to Scotland to deliver the artwork! She laughed and said not to worry and dealt with everything quickly and efficiently and the tube was finally labelled, sorted, weighed, measured and ready to board the truck bound for Cape Town.
Early this morning, I received a call from Brenda saying that Candice at The Courier Guy kiosk (King Air Industria in Cape Town) had the parcel and it was all cleared for hand over to our client. I contacted our client and he managed to pop in en route to the airport, emerging victorious, tube in hand and still had plenty of time to check in and board his plane.
So grateful to the team that made it happen! Couriers are a crucial extension to our business, if we make promises, they are the ones who have to keep them so we really appreciate them going the extra mile so that our client could take a special memory home!
Thank you to everyone involved.

In the Studio...
Being happy and positive is essential to creativity..
The magic only happens when you’re pushing the boundaries and for me, it’s the challenge of having to come up with something fresh and new with each artwork that keeps me going back to my studio each day – nothing is more satisfying than a good day’s painting…
