Essence by Peter Pharoah I love experimenting with new ways to capture the ‘Essence’ of the piece I am working on.
Sometimes using colour, or lack thereof, to create the mood and overall feeling of the image then using paint to express the emotions just as a writer uses a pen, the monochromatic palette becoming the poetry that flows from the brush telling the story, conveying my interpretation of the moment captured by the camera.
I hope that you can feel the emotion of this piece in your own way, finding the subtle nuances and hidden secrets of the girl behind the image.
Capturing the spirit of a moment…

In the Studio...
Being happy and positive is essential to creativity..
The magic only happens when you’re pushing the boundaries and for me, it’s the challenge of having to come up with something fresh and new with each artwork that keeps me going back to my studio each day – nothing is more satisfying than a good day’s painting…
Displaying your art is a great way to show your design flair. Whether it’s a memory or a feeling, a piece of art can evoke powerful emotions when we look at it.
Art can cheer us up after a bad day, make us remember, or inspire us to do more in life.
It can provide comfort that we are not the only ones feeling a certain way.
